At VARNINI^®, the experience of a fabric begins with how it feels — its softness, movement, drape and the way it gives an original design its expression.

Alongside that experience, we share the material, sourcing and process information relevant to each piece clearly and within the context in which it applies.

The Fabric

For current pieces where the applicable product record supports it, the fabric is identified as organic cotton mulmul or voile according to the terminology used in that controlled record.

Lightweight, breathable and soft in movement, the fabric creates a fluid drape and allows the artwork to move naturally with the wearer.

Standard fabric width for the current specification is 44 inches. For sarees, after the applicable fall-and-edging finish, the standard finished saree height is approximately 40–42 inches; height can be customised according to wearer preference and the chosen design.

Material characteristics can vary between products and lots, so the individual product page remains the reference for the material details applicable to the piece you choose.

How It Feels

Actual coverage and translucency can vary with the fabric, print density, colour and lighting. Product-specific guidance should be based on the actual piece or fabric lot.

From Artwork to Fabric

Every VARNINI^® print begins as an original design.

Original VARNINI^® artwork is translated onto fabric through reactive digital printing. The current process includes fabric preparation, printing, steaming and washing before the printed fabric proceeds to final finishing and quality review, where the applicable job record supports these stages.

Coverage & Use

For sarees, coverage can be considered with the chosen petticoat and blouse construction. For Fabric Stories, lining or layering can be considered according to the intended silhouette and the level of coverage preferred.

The fabric used for this piece is sourced from a supplier holding valid GOTS certification for the relevant scope. The certification applies within the scope stated in the relevant supplier documentation.
